CART Captioning Services

The same realtime technology we use for our instant transcripts allows us to provide CART Captioning (Communication Access Realtime Translation). We translate the spoken word from steno into English text on a laptop or tablet instantly. Think captions on TV! This technology is primarily used by people who are deaf or hard of hearing, but benefits interpreters during proceedings with highly technical terminolgy. It also helps witnesses whose second language is English. Seeing the questions being asked, not just hearing them, helps with comprehension and helps you get a more reliable transcript.

The Americans with Disabilities Act specifically recognized CART as an assistive technology which affords “effective communication access.”

Susan Wasilewski has made a name for herself in stenographic reporting. She is a highly credentialed court reporter with a busy schedule, but she takes time to give back.   Wasilewski Court Reporting is a proud sponsor of the Lakeland Chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America and provides CART services for their monthly meetings.

“CART makes such a big difference to those with hearing loss. It’s communication in realtime. I know I’m at my best when helping others and HLAA meetings provide me that opportunity. It also makes me proud to know that when I can’t make a meeting, another reporter from WCR will step in for me. We have a great team with a lot of heart.”
